Our fully furnished cottage/log home, 5 minutes 'walk from CHONGOENE beachfront in the warm Indian Ocean, located in a quiet & peacefull, 24-hour- secured area, which would be the ideal holiday for your family!
Leading from the living room is a outside deck with a stunning 180 degree sea view.

With 1 double bedroom and 1 room with 2 bunker beds, and a 3rd room with 2 single beds, a kitchen, lounge, bathroom, outside-shower and under roof parking, the log cabin house is ideal for families of 6.

The new CHONGOENE RESTAURANT IS 75M from the house, right next to the beach with a lovely deck. A pool table and full bar. The beach has thatched umbrellas, and a reef, with two gaps that runs along the beach for 17km, the reef is about twenty meter off shore. During low tide the water is calm and ideal for a lovely holiday. Visit Loja de Praia (our beach shop) at Praia de Xai Xai,(7km) for Ice cream, charcoal, toys etc.

Summer temperature ranging between 30-40 degrees and winter 20-30 degrees this is a year round destination. (Summer water temp is around 29 degrees and winter 22 degrees).

• This resort is 7km from Praia de Xai Xai & 14km from inland Xai Xai with its local markets, shops, restaurants, banks, pharmacies, a hospital and open air furniture factories.
• The local money is Meticais, but South African Rand (Paper money) is also accepted at some places. You will be able to draw Meticais at the ATM, s in Xai Xai, Maputo etc.
• Other activities such as scuba diving, deep-sea-, rock- & surf- fishing, bird watching, hiking, quad bike tours etc are taking place, but have to be organized by yourselves
• Camping facilities (with hot/cold water) -enquire at Colleen George-available for 60-70 campers max -5 thatched lapas available with plug points.
• Charter fishing can be booked at Xai Xai Eco Estate
• Lightweight clothing is suitable year-round. Sun protection and mosquito repellents are strongly advisable
  

This Mozambique beach resort is known for its pristine private beach and the reef running parallel with the beach. The reef offers excellent snorkelling and fishing opportunities. There is also facilities available for boat launching close by.

How to find us:
Xai Xai (pronounced as 'shy-shy') is situated in the southern part of Mozambique, just over 250km North of Maputo on the Northern banks of the Limpopo river.(750 km from Johannesburg=Tar road) or alternatively an adventurous 450 km preferably from Phalaborwa through the Kruger Park)As you drive north on EN1 over the Limpopo river bridge ... you will enter the outskirts of Xai Xai where you take the turnoff to your right, approximately 7km further you reach the round about at Praia do Xai-Xai (beach). Drive straight to the beach, & then turn left in the sand road next to the sea (7KM) which takes you to CHONGOENE HOLIDAY RESORT where Colleen or Peter George (at the restaurant)will assist you with the keys & other enquiries.
