Pemba Dive Beach and Lodge is located on a secluded
beach and offers self-catering and bed & breakfast accommodation in beach chalets and
double bed bamboo units. This beach dive lodge is surrounded by 100 acres of natural bush and beach environment.
PEMBA DIVE & BUSH CAMP – is close to the Quirimbas
Archipelago Islands, Northern Mozambique.

Bed and breakfast, we cater meals at beachside barbeque
next to beach bar. Communal self-catering kitchen, with Backpacker
Shop. Complementary transfers in/out of lodge up to the Airport,
next to town or Wimbi.
Wimbi beach offers Scuba Diving, Dolphin Safari, traditional Arab
Dhow trips and lots more to discover. Free activities at the Lodge:

Pemba has an International Airport in Northern
Mozambique with links Nairobi, Dar Es Salaam and Johannesburg.
The town is very close to the lodge inside the valley of
baobabs a 100 acre Indigenous Nature Estate surrounded by a
beautiful mountainous range with a stunning panoramic view
overlooking the Largest Natural Bay in Africa.
Our beach accommodation is nestled between isolated
white sandy beaches and un-spoilt rustic beauty of the Savanna bush.
Entrance into Pemba, at the Control point turn left to
the lodge, 2km off the main road to the white sandy Beach Bar, 1km
before the Airport, next to Town and Wimbi Beach. Or free transport
in/out of the lodge up to the Airport.

Pemba is the springboard to the Quirimbas Archipelago
Islands. Ibo Island takes you back in time to the Arab influence
which still has a strong influence on the local tribes today.
The hub of Macondes, marked themselves out as skillful sculptors,
creating expressive and aesthetic helmet masks, that is used by
dancers, full of force and emotion, performed at the traditional
festivals and ceremonies. Marine Activities
- SCUBA DIVING – Pemba has the largest fan coral
in Africa. The extensive variety of soft and hard
coral, attract a legion of fish species, even the
rare 2 000kg Sun Fish and countless different types
of marine life. There are four species of Dolphins
and Turtles present. A marine photographers paradise
good vizability almost all year round from deep to
3m shallow. Ideal for the professional and novice
with very calm waters.
- DIVE SCHOOL - The only PADI Resort and DAN
Business Member in Pemba. All PADI courses up to Dive
Master is lead by a PADI Instructor and 1st Aid
Instructor. Automatic on line registration with PADI
that allows the student to continue the course with
other PADI schools should there be any time
constraints. Plus, students automatically receive
DAN dive insurance while on course with Pemba Dive.
- DOLPHIN SAFARI – Incorporates the experience to
snorkel and swim with the Dolphins then go and discover the
isolated Green Reserve across the bay by scuba
diving/snorkeling and explore a cave,.
- SNORKELING - Coral reefs are only a short swim
from the coast line.
- WHALES - Humpback whales the mum and calf comes
in August. You can hear an orchestra from mating
males, through out a whole dive, in September.
Sightings of them breaching can be seen till
January.
- FISHING - inside the bay, a record of 25
Barracuda have been caught and released, in one day
by a fisherman with his own gear. Every fortnight
Sailfish are caught by local fishermen with their
hand lines and various pelagic game fish.
- KNEE BOARDING - Wake and knee boarding on our
flat, calm waters gives you an opportunity to do
free style tricks at your own leisure.
Land Activities
- MAIN BEACH is so secluded it whispers “Welcome to paradise.”
Equipped with ample shade, private bar, beach barbeque, shower,
changing room, games & lots of toys.
A major attraction is sunset photography, relaxing around the beach
campfire is rewarding with sundowners, with a number of campfire
stories told how the estate and coral reef are preserved.
- BIRD WATCHING - The vast indigenous habitat is a Bird watchers
paradise in a well-balanced eco system – look out for the elusive
Bat Hawk and Pale Batis. The mangroves occupy 12 different species
of crabs as well as a plethora of insects which attract small
mammals, reptiles and birds. There is an attraction for coastline
birds, migratory birds, thorn veldt / bush veldt birds and forest
birds that also feast on a variety of fruits and berries in the
area.
- Nature walk Lead by a African Traditional Healer through a
Bio-diversity of vegetation from the coastline thickets, to a
mountainous range offering you numerous species of trees. A variety
of different mangrove forest, Coastline mangrove estuary, Sun-blast
mangrove estuary and Inland mangrove forest with endless channels
and riverbeds disappearing deep into the Acacia Savanna, bush &
thorn veldt, indigenous medicinal fruits, plants, shrubs and trees,
with Grassland mosaic in the valley. Bush-trails are specially laid
out in the Nacole valley, spot the rare Sunni gazelle, wild bush
pigs and shy Vervit monkeys.
Dominated by 40 ancient baobab trees, walk inside the ancient Nacole
Baobab 9m2 hollow, that protected the refugees during the war.
- MUD BATH - is a favorite for releasing the child within. Its warm
soft mixture of black mud, rich in minerals, which extracts all the
stress and toxins from your body. With a history of healing
properties, it softens your skin, improves your complexion and
conditions your hair. There is a powerful tonic in the mud getting
all to play and giggle, allowing you to relax the dirty way.
- ARCHERY - A brief introduction to the ancient art of archery is
given, allowing you to discover an enjoyable skill. You will be
entertained that the standard “Recurve-bows” are fairly easy to
master by all ages.
- AT NIGHT - sitting on the beach in front of a camp fire you can
listen to the heart beat of activity, with kissing songs from bats
in the mangrove estuary singing in harmony, welcoming each other.
Occasionally the peace is broken with male bush baby’s startling
cries of excitement, when he encounters the females.
- FIRE BALLS and drumming - Another activity we encourage to practice
are Fire balls. Motivated by the drummers (not always harmonious)
learning to dodge and dance around the hissing fireballs is quite a
challenging art.
