Palm Grove Lodge lies on a white beach with the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. The lodge is 500km north of Maputo on tarred roads – with only the last 7km gravel. Palm Grove Lodge is nestled amongst coconut groves and has a wonderful beach.

Palm Lodge has a secluded unspoiled beach bordered by Inhambane Estuary on one side and the sea on the other. The warm water offers safe swimming, spectacular scuba diving and easy boat launching.

Accommodation:

• Accommodation consists of 21 Casas and Casitas.
• Casas are 8 sleeper chalets with 3 bedrooms and 2 single beds in the lounge.
• Casitas are 4 sleeper chalets with 1 bedroom and 2 single beds in the lounge.
• We also have 6 sleeper chalets with 2 bedrooms and space for 2 people in the lounge.
• We also have a 10 sleeper available.
• A 12 sleeper self-catering chalet, with 3 double ensuite bedrooms, 1 room with 2 single beds and 1 room with 4 bunk beds (4 people).
• Each chalet has its own open plan lounge, kitchen, dining room and a patio. All the basic amenities are supplied including a fridge, 2 plate gas stove, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, utensils, linen and mosquito netting.
• Please bring own bath and beach towels.

More Information:

• Each Casa will be supplied with a helper or cleaner from 7:00 – 17:00.
• Electricity is provided 24 hours and standby generators will operate if the electricity supply is unavailable.
• Warm water is supplied by a donkey.
• Palm Grove Lodge has a restaurant and communal braai area with a beach bar.
• Direct flights from Lanseria or OR Tambo to Inhambane throughout the week via LAM. Flights operate via Maputo on Sundays.
• Free return airport transfers from Inhambane Airport to Barra.

Activities:

The following activities can be arranged:
• Ocean Safaris – great care is taken to ensure Dolphin and/or Whale Shark sightings.
• Cultural Tours – from inexpensive Dhow rides to Maxixe, to visiting the Maritime Museum.
• Horse Riding & Quad Trips – guided trips on the beach and through the villages.
• Scuba Diving & Snorkeling – diving at one of the breathtaking views. Beginner to instructor level at a neighbouring lodge.
• Boogie Boarding – boogie boards are available for hire at the Dive Centre.

Rates:

• Rates are per unit per day.
• Low season rates apply for September school holidays.
